AI Humanizer
Paste text that sounds like a chatbot wrote it, and this AI humanizer rewrites it in a natural voice. Your numbers, names and dates stay as they were. Less AI, more you.
How to Humanize AI Text in 3 Steps
- 1
Paste or upload
Drop in an email, a LinkedIn post or a blog draft. Plain text, Markdown and Word files all work.
- 2
See what sounds like AI
Sentences with common AI patterns are highlighted. Hover over one to see why it was flagged.
- 3
Humanize and edit
We rewrite what needs it, keep your numbers and names, and let you edit every paragraph before you copy.
How Many Words Can You Humanize for Free?
Every run takes up to 500 characters, which is about 80 English words, and you get 3 free runs a day. Here are the full limits.
| Length of one run | 500 characters, about 80 words. We count characters, not words. |
|---|---|
| Free runs per day | 3 |
| How runs are counted | Per device and per network (IP address) |
| Daily reset | 00:00 UTC |
| Optional writing samples | 1,500 characters in total, up to 3 pieces |
| Failed runs | Do not count against your limit |
| Pattern check | Not limited |
| Sign-up | Not needed |
Each run calls a paid AI model, so we cap both the runs per person and the total spend per day. If the daily cap is reached, rewrites pause until the next day and the pattern check keeps working. Paid plans with higher limits may come later.
Make Your Writing Sound Less AI
Readers have learned the patterns, and one on its own is fine. A cluster is what makes an email or post feel generated. In our own measurement of 400 human texts and 197 written by Claude and GPT, the AI blog posts had a flatter sentence rhythm than the human ones, and 18 of 50 Claude emails still held an unfilled placeholder in square brackets. The method and every number are in the data behind this page. For six editing rules you can apply by hand, read how to sound less AI.
Before you rewrite, the highlights come from fixed phrase rules, so the same text always gets the same flags. The rules catch stock phrases, filler openers and placeholders. They do not measure sentence rhythm or paragraph shape; the rewrite works on those, and after a run the model may mark a few extra sentences, labelled as its own. Human writing can trip a rule too, so read each flag as a prompt to take a second look. The AI tone score counts only the rule matches. It describes your text and says nothing about any outside checker.
Even sentence length
Every sentence is about the same size, and the rhythm never changes.
Announcing sentences
“Here is why this matters.” The point is promised and then restated.
Matching paragraphs
Three points, three paragraphs, each with the same shape.
Stock phrases
Greetings, transitions and endings that fit any message.
Before and after
The greeting is gone, the news comes first and the new date is stated outright.
A fact replaces the announcement, and the not-just-a-role line is cut.
A concrete count and a decision replace a general claim.
Buzzwords turn into something a reader can picture.
Questions About the AI Humanizer
What is an AI humanizer?+
An AI humanizer rewrites text that sounds machine-made so it reads like a person wrote it. Ours first marks the sentences that carry common AI patterns, then rewrites them and shows both versions side by side so you can edit the result.
How do I make ChatGPT text sound human?+
Paste the ChatGPT answer into the box above and press Humanize. You can also do it by hand: cut the warm-up sentence, vary your sentence length, swap vague claims for one specific detail and delete the closing recap. Our guide on how to sound less AI walks through six rules with examples.
Is Less AI free?+
Yes. You get 3 free runs a day of up to 500 characters each, with no account and no credit card. Paid plans with higher limits may come later.
Is humanizing text cheating?+
It depends on where the text is going. Polishing a draft for your own email, post or blog is ordinary editing. Schools, journals and some employers have rules about AI help, so follow the rules that apply to you. Less AI is a rewriting tool. It does not promise to get past any check, and it should not be used to hide AI use where you are required to disclose it.
Will it pass AI detectors?+
We cannot promise that. No detector has been run on our output, and detectors disagree with each other and change often. What we aim for is text that your reader, client or boss will not skim past as filler. The AI tone score you see is our own rule-based estimate, not a detector result.
Will it change my facts?+
It should not, and we check. After every rewrite we compare numbers, prices, dates, times, links, email addresses and names between the two versions. If something went missing or appeared from nowhere, that paragraph is marked for you to check.
Does it work with Markdown?+
Yes. Upload a .md file or paste Markdown and the rewrite keeps your headings, lists, links, bold text, code blocks and tables. You can copy or download the result as Markdown.
Do you store my text?+
No. Your text is sent to the AI model to produce the rewrite and is not saved on our servers. Optional writing samples are used for that one rewrite only. To count free runs we keep a cookie and a salted hash of your IP address, never the text itself.
How many words can I humanize at once?+
Each run takes up to 500 characters, which is about 80 English words. For a longer piece, humanize it in parts. The limit is counted in characters, and the counter under the text box shows where you stand.
Can it match my own writing style?+
Yes. Click “Match my writing style” and add up to 3 short pieces you wrote yourself, 1,500 characters in total. The rewrite copies your rhythm and tone, not your content, and the samples are not saved.
What kind of text works best?+
Work emails, LinkedIn posts, blog drafts and marketing copy. The examples and patterns we check were built around those. It is not designed to help students get schoolwork past a checker.
What can I upload?+
Paste text directly or upload a .txt, .md or .docx file. Files are read inside your browser, and only the extracted text is sent when you press Humanize.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT to rewrite it?+
A general chatbot will happily rewrite everything and may change a figure along the way. Less AI shows which sentences were flagged and why, lets you pick how much to change, and checks that facts survived. It does the same job with more control and less guessing.
What does Check AI patterns do?+
When your free runs are used up, or rewrites are paused for the day, the button switches to Check AI patterns. It still highlights the sentences with AI patterns in your text, right in your browser, but does not rewrite them.
Ready to try it? Paste your draft into the AI humanizer at the top of this page, or read the replacements for that tired email greeting if it is the line giving you away.
